How to Nurture Your Buyers to Hire You

Nurturing Your Buyers Even After Closing

Let them know how meaningful they are

The best way to show the people you serve you care about is to be in touch with them. When you do this, you will build a great business through the referrals and reputation you earn.

An appreciation event for your friends and sphere of influence is a great way to let those you care about know they are meaningful to you. With these events, you can grow your relationships and meet prospective clients.

When you host a client appreciation event, it shows your sphere that you care for them and that you are grateful for the relationship you share. Each year, my sales network hosts the following events.

  • Spring Charity Game Night Poker

This started as a poker night. I was surprised at how few people play poker. So, we changed the night to a game night that includes poker. In our last event, we raised $1,725 for a local hospice center.

  • Summer Nights at the Movies

We coordinate with the local movie theater to allow us to set up a table in their lobby. We buy a book of tickets and give these to our friends and clients who show up. Often, we partner with other real estate agents to host this event.

  • Autumn Pig Roast

This is a fun event that we host at my home each year. We order a pig (and some veggies for those who are anti-hog) and smoke it all day long. We usually will rent a moon bounce for the kids and play horseshoes, cornhole, and other games.

  • Winter Christmas Tree Giveaway

We buy trees for our sphere of influence in exchange for a donation from them to Toys for Tots. This event's investment is $35 per Christmas tree, plus the cost of some hot chocolate and cookies and the cost to pay Santa and a videographer.

Many people have good feelings during the holidays and assign those same emotions to us when we buy them a tree. We give friends a gift that stands in their living area for a month or so, during a period when they're most likely to have a party at their own house.

Our past clients and friends often tell me about how good they feel about the gift.
