As real estate agents, we all want predictable results—consistent closings, happy clients, and, of course, no broke months. But what if I told you that your future success is as simple to predict as your daily habits?

Whether you're lead generating for one to three hours daily or skipping it altogether, your habits are shaping your results.

Take a moment to think about it: If you were to observe someone eating whole foods, avoiding processed junk, exercising five days a week, and drinking plenty of water, wouldn’t you expect them to be healthy and fit? The same principle applies to your business. Your results, or lack thereof, mirror your daily actions.


Are Your Habits Helping or Hurting?

Let’s break it down. In real estate, habits typically fall into four categories:

  1. Consistent: Daily lead generation for 1–3 hours, five days a week.

  2. Sporadic: Lead generation here and there, without a clear pattern.

  3. Seldom: Rarely dedicating time to lead generation.

  4. Nonexistent: Skipping it entirely.

Now ask yourself: Where do you fall? Are you the “fit” agent who’s consistently working toward your goals, or are you the metaphorical “out-of-shape” agent, letting opportunities slip through the cracks?


Overcoming the Three Obstacles to Sales Success

If you’re not meeting your sales goals, it usually boils down to one of three reasons:

  1. Not saying the right thing.

  2. Not saying it to the right people.

  3. Not saying it often enough.

Here’s the good news: These obstacles are solvable. Learning scripts and roleplaying can help you refine what to say, while tracking your activities ensures you're connecting with the right audience. And if you're not saying it often enough, well, that’s an easy fix—start today, say it more, and adjust as you go.


Lessons from the Restaurant Floor

When I first started in real estate, I relied on the lessons I learned from waiting tables. At one of the best steakhouses around, I quickly figured out that how I said something directly influenced the results. By tweaking my approach, I could upsell $50 per table. Multiply that over dozens of tables, and the results were remarkable.

The same principle applies in real estate. Whether it’s refining how you present a listing or adjusting your follow-up strategy, paying attention to what works—and doubling down on it—can dramatically increase your results.


Discipline, Consistency, and Results

My journey is proof of what’s possible. In my third year as a real estate agent, I closed 109 transactions—not because I had a secret formula, but because I committed to consistent lead generation. I didn’t always know what to say, but I said it often enough to figure it out.

If your habits align with your goals, success is inevitable.


Start Small, Stay Consistent

Even if you’re unsure what to say, start by saying something. Practice. Pay attention to your results. Refine your approach. And remember: the habits you build today will predict your results tomorrow.
